How to Use Searchie Tags to Uplevel Your Business
You may have heard about tagging and tags when people talk about Searchie, the incredible content management, and delivery platform. But what are tags exactly, and how can they help you when running your business?
Using Searchie Tags to Organize Content
In Searchie’s editor, you can apply tags to your files.
Searchie has folders to store video and audio content. I suggest keeping these folders “biggie-sized”. Meaning, keep these organized by big concepts and chunks of content. Folders should be the big picture.
This is where tags can come in handy for the organization. Many wish there were sub-folders in Searchie. You can use creative tagging as a work-around for this.
For example, if you’ve got clients as a primary folder, then tagging will come into play with the names of clients. Using tagging allows you to organize the content in playlists easily to your clients - and with automation. You can set up a playlist with the tags once you’ve set them with your client name. So, your folder will be named ‘client’ and your tag will be named ‘sandler’. Apply the tag ‘sandler’ in the automate field in the playlist. When you create media with your Sandler client, tag it ‘sandler’ in media and it will automatically go to that playlist. If you’ve given that playlist to your client, they will now have access to that media and any/all future updates to that material.
Using Searchie Tags to Deliver Content Your Users Need. . .and Want
Use Searchie tags to create playlists of content your users will love!
The best way to begin thinking about tagging is to think about all the things your users would like to know about and then take the list and categorize it. What are things they ask about frequently? Or, ask them what top 5 topics they’d like to see in your membership or course portal. If you’re already using Searchie, you can also look at analytics to see what people are searching.
These content tags can have to do with the nature of the content (like Facebook Live sessions, success path modules, course handouts), the content itself (introduction, “back exercises,” “values,” “assignments,” etc.), the length of the video content (15 minutes, 30 minutes, etc.), or the level of participant that is appropriate for the content (beginner, intermediate, etc.).
Then the magic begins: you can start filtering all of your content using the tags you’ve created. Create playlists with the tags you’ve created. You can deliver the playlist content to your users by sharing the playlist URLs or embedding them into your website. Or, you can create sections of ‘Search by Topic’ or ‘Frequently Asked Topics’ inside your Searchie Hub. Set up a CTA grid and put each topic as a title inside each box inside the CTA grid. Make each box that topic playlist. Voila! You have created a section inside your Searchie Hub of material that’s highly sought-after by your users - instead of making them hunt for it.
Think of it this way, the more tags you create, the more ways that you can slice and dice your content! Your users will never know the myriad of ways you are delivering the same content.
Using Audience Tags in Searchie
Audience tags are all about controlling visibility on Searchie Hubs, pages, or sections. These tags are entered for the audience member, allowing them to have a unique user experience with your Searchie content.
Let’s say you provide one-on-one coaching calls. You can post the replays of the coaching calls as an added value for your clients. But of course, you don’t want clients watching the private sessions of others. No problem—simply use tagging so that the client will only see their own videos. The other client’s videos will not show up as locked; they will simply not be seen at all.
You can use audience tags to lock down paid parts of your Hub, too.
Do you have to tag everything with an audience tag? No—for the content that you want to be available to everyone, there’s no need for an audience tag.
