This Coach Loved Searchie Even More When She Learned This!

She’d Used Many Platforms Before Discovering Searchie
Michelle had created online courses in the past using Teachable, Kajabi, and Rozuku. They served her needs well enough, but eventually Michelle learned about Searchie while participating in Stu McLaren’s The Membership Experience program (Stu is Searchie’s creator).
You know how when you hear about something interesting, all of a sudden you start seeing it everywhere? That’s what happened to Michelle: she started hearing about Searchie more and more. When she heard about how Searchie gives users the ability to search a term and call up all the times it’s mentioned, she knew it was the platform for her. Her program has a huge content library—over 20 masterclasses as well as several courses—so Searchie makes navigating all that content a breeze rather than a chore.
She Created a Membership Using Searchie
Michelle created The Made for This Collective, helping clients clarify their message (their “rooftop story'') and implement it as they share it with their audience: whether they’re writing a book, launching a business, etc. The collective supports these industry leaders in sharing and refine their message in a way that’s clear, exciting, and compelling.
She Loved Searchie’s Search Feature Even More When She Learned This
I interviewed Michelle and we toured her membership Hub. Because she feels so strongly about the power of Searchie’s search bar tool, she made sure that it’s on every page of her Hub. Her members never have to poke around to find the search bar, and seeing it on every page reminds them that they can search for exactly what they want.
But there was a new search feature in Searchie that I shared with Michelle during our interview: When you’re watching a video in a Searchie Hub, you can click on “Search Your Media” on the right hand side and it will search in that video only. This way, you are conducting a targeted search and it saves a ton of time. If you know which video has the content you want to jump to, you can open it and search it without having to wade through all the other results from your video library.
Another recent change is that search results show more context around each “hit.” This makes it easier to know whether or not this is the result you’re looking for and get to your desired hit faster.
Michelle was delighted to learn about these new features! It’s a great example of how the Searchie development team is constantly improving Searchie.
A Clear, Branded Experience for Her Members
Michelle’s previous membership site was on Kajabi, but it didn’t have the same flexibility as Searchie when it came to organizing the landing page. Michelle wanted it to be very clear to the member what the next step is at all times, and it was easy to accomplish this using Searchie.
Michelle’s membership Hub opens with a welcome video and site tour. The success path, The Path of Radiant Leadership, is clearly visible there and makes it super clear to the members about where they are on the path.
The success path has beautifully branded thumbnails as well as a progress marker. Michelle loves that her members are able to look at the progress marker and see how far they are through the success path. This is an example of Searchie’s new gamification features. This progress marker can help inspire the member to make progress and watch the number rise.
A calendar helps the member know about upcoming events, and Michelle is pleased that the calendar is bigger than the one she was able to offer in Kajabi.
This robust membership site has a searchable masterclass library and an archive of searchable coaching call replays for the members to easily use. There’s also bonus content and a resource library.
Her Searchie Advice? Shorten the Learning Curve by Hiring Help
Michelle says that if you’re considering creating a course or membership, Searchie is a great way to go. Another great piece of advice? If you’re creating a membership, look at as many memberships as possible. Michelle very intentionally joined a number of memberships to get a feel for what she liked—and didn’t like—as a member in an online membership. This research helped her create the membership of her dreams, The Made for This Collective.
Michelle’s advice to those looking to create a course or membership? “I love Searchie and I highly recommend it if you’re doing a course or membership…. I also strongly recommend getting help.” In fact, Michelle hired me to build her Hub. She had the skills to create her membership Hub, but it would have taken her tons of time. Instead, I did it for her in a day.
Michelle loved the way that she and her team could hop in and hop out of the process of designing and implementing her Hub. They were present for some of it, but didn’t need to be there for all of it. They also didn’t need to have 100% of their content ready to populate the Hub—after I handed it off to Michelle and her team, there were “placeholders” in parts of the Hub for them to populate with video content on their own time.
Michelle says, “Searchie is easy to use, but all technology involves a learning curve. [Working with Michelle] really shortened our learning curve.”
