I was Crying Last Night. . .Planners, Client Gifts & Marketing Strategy
I was crying last night. . .
When I got this in the mail from MY client as a gift. What class Caryl Pomales of Caryl Fine Art has. Not only was it such a sweet gesture for her to send this to me. . .but, she knows me to the CORE that I LOVE me a good planner! And, how did she know that I’m getting to the end of mine? She must have been reading my mind! 😲
There’s something to be said for the sheer force of taking time to say thank you to someone. A good ‘ole fashioned handwritten note and a gift sent snail mail from the actual person. Makes one feel super special. I’m going to follow the lead of my incredible client and take into account her kind gesture and look for ways to incorporate this into my business in 2021. It’s good marketing at its core. And, fitting it into my content calendar is good strategy.
Also, this may SURPRISE you as many of you know how “techie” I am. I do truly love connecting tech and making the world more efficient through technology. For example, my clients know I’m a huge Asana lover - can’t work without it. But, there are just some things that must be done on paper. Each night, before bed, I make a list of what’s to come the next day, what I’ve got to do, what’s priority. It’s something I started a few months ago and it’s really helped me 1) sleep better and 2) helped my biz tremendously. Whatever the case may be - Asana, paper, planning is key, that is clear!
What this gift reminded me is that maybe I’m just old fashioned. . .or, is old fashioned in fashion? Yet, this is basic marketing and planning strategy here. . .what we’re talking about here is marketing 101 in business school. It’s good stuff.
Do any of you out there give handwritten/hand-sent gifts/gestures?
Do any of you out there use paper to jot down your to-dos?
What’s your opinion of these strategy and marketing techniques - what do you think is in fashion?
I’d love to hear!
