She Amped Her Membership with Gamification

Janie came to me for help in creating a cleaner user experience for her PetBizMBA course and membership on Searchie. We talked about the myriad of ways she could engage and retain her users.
I told Janie that increasing retention by just 5% can increase profits by 25% and adding game-like elements can drive up completion rates by more than 50%!
So, she decided to hone in on adding gamification to her Hub using Searchie’s achievements.
The first step was to communicate the kinds of awards users could achieve. So, we started with this board to outline the ways.
She’s got awards for people based on finishing content. She’s got monthly content and core content and between the two, she’s got 9 awards!
At the bottom of the page, she’s got a link to the achievements page so people can see their own awards. They’ll get a notification inside the Hub as well as an email but we all know people are busy and sometimes miss these things so this is an easy reminder.
It was easy for Janie to unload the task of creating this feature onto me. It was done in a day!
