Does Searchie Host Websites?

I’ve seen a lot of people catch Searchie fever. They learn what an amazing content management platform Searchie is, and they soon decide to go all in with Searchie. Who could blame them? This raises the question of whether it can be used for hosting a business’ website as well as their online offerings such as courses, memberships, summits, training portals, and coaching portals.

The answer to whether Searchie can host a website is “Yes, but.” Here’s my take on this:

Yes, Searchie Can Host a Website

Searchie can absolutely be used as your company’s website. I think that this would be best in the case of a simple and spare website that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles. For example, it’s a landing page with information about the company and links to the offerings—and nothing else.

Here’s an example of one of my clients who wanted to use Searchie as her website. As you can see, it was a great fit for her business. Using Searchie for her website was helpful because she was already comfortable with using Searchie to update the Searchie Hubs for her online offerings—but when it came to her website, she needed to hire help to make changes. It was worth it to her to transition the website to Searchie, a platform she felt confident using.

A Searchie website will not be able to have fancy website functionality like a blog. It will not show up in search engine ranking compared to websites that are on platforms that optimize SEO. It doesn’t have any SEO capability in terms of the content on pages.

But You Can Optimize Results with a Dream Team

As you may know, I’m a major fan of Searchie. Over the past few years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients launch their online offerings via Searchie through my workshops, guided Searchie templates, Build My Searchie Hub VIP Experience, and all of the free content I share (like this blog post). I use Searchie for my online offerings, staff training and communication, as well as personal projects.

But when it comes to my website, I don’t use Searchie—I use Squarespace. I love that Squarespace provides a one-stop shop, from hosting a URL, to creating and managing an online shop, to blog capabilities and more. It’s easy to create clean, powerful websites in Squarespace without needing to know how to use code.

Squarespace’s support is top-notch and there’s no need to worry about plug-ins, security, or the green monster attacking your system because they take care of it all! As a Squarespace Circle designer, I’m able to give my clients special discounts and extended development time with the software while I’m building their Squarespace website.

Searchie is without a doubt the best platform for hosting, sharing, and organizing large quantities of video content. It’s the platform I recommend again and again to businesses looking to teach or coach online. And yes, it could be used for these companies’ websites as well, but in most cases, it’s better to let Searchie do what it does best and let Squarespace turbocharge your website.
